Gaining access to empower requires users to have:
an ABB ID
an empower profile with at least one ABB customer account assigned
TIP: Users must know their ABB customer account in order to complete registration. They can obtain this from their Account Manager or refer to the sold-to account number on an Order Confirmation or Invoice.

Creating an ABB ID ... new customers and agents must first create an ABB ID before they can register for an empower profile.
Registering for empower ... after creating an ABB ID, all users must register for empower and request access to at least one ABB customer account.
Logging into empower ... after registering and receiving account approval, users can login via empower.abb.com using their ABB ID and associated password.
Below is a quick overview of the registration process.
ABB User Creation
To create an ABB ID start by accessing empower.abb.com.
ABB internal users: should click the Log in button to log into empower with their ABB-supplied ID. (Please skip to the Registering for empower section.)
Customers and agents: must click on the Register Now button from the empower login page.
NOTE: Once they click Register Now they will see the below screen. They should click the Get ABB ID to Register button (under New external users) to create an ABB ID.
TIP: Registering for an ABB ID requires users to agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for digital tools.
After accepting the terms, users need to complete the ABB ID creation form. While creating an ABB ID they will generate a unique User ID and password. They will also be asked to select a password challenge question to help during the password reset / recovery process if required.
NOTE: This ID is meant to be for an individual user and should not be shared with other empower users.
After creating an ABB ID, users will need to activate their ID via the email they receive.
Once users have successfully activated their ABB ID, it will take up to 5 minutes to sync to empower. During this time, they will be unable to login. After 5 minutes, they can proceed to empower.abb.com to register for empower.
TIP: Users can now access all empowerU training materials in the empower Help Center.
After creating an ABB ID, users need to click the Login button from empower.abb.com to register for empower, which includes completing the profile and requesting access to at least one ABB customer account. Once an account is approved, they will have access to empower.
After logging in, new users will need to complete their empower registration.
empower Profile Setup
The empower Profile page contains the below key items:
1. Personal Information: provide information such as phone number and default language. In addition, users need to select their Relationship to ABB and Role.

2. Pre Authorization Code: if a pre-authorization code was provided, it can be entered here to receive immediate access to your account(s).
3. Request Account: use this button to submit a request for account(s) to be added to your empower profile.
Requesting Account Access
All users MUST have at least one ABB customer account added to their empower profile in order to gain access. They can obtain their account number from their Account Manager or refer to the sold-to account on an Order Confirmation or Invoice. (See below for examples)

Below is the Request Account screen for customers.
The following are more Request Account instructions, based on the type of user:

Customers: enter the account number and click the Add to Request button. To request multiple accounts, click the + icon for a new row. When done, click the Add to Request button
Are you a Zenith agent?

Zenith agents: cannot request accounts. After empower registration a request to setup your profile will be automatically sent to an Administrator. You will be notified when your setup is complete.
Are you a Non-Zenith agent?

Non-Zenith agents: cannot request accounts. After empower registration, your ABB Manager will be notified to complete your profile setup. For additional account requests, please reach out directly to your ABB Manager.
Are you an ABB internal user?
Are you an ABB internal user?
ABB internal users can utilize a few different methods for obtaining account access. You can request accounts or Sales Engineer Codes during registration, or based on your Role, may request a bulk account upload or admin privilege by contacting [email protected].
Customer Service Representatives: skip the Request Account step. After submitting your registration, contact [email protected] to request the Customer Service admin privilege for the specific regions you need (NA, EMEA, Asia, or Latin America).
Post Sales, Finance & Engineering: skip the Request Account step. After submitting your registration, contact [email protected] and request the Regional Account View admin privilege for the specific regions you need (NA, EMEA, Asia, or Latin America).
Sales Team: will need access to the accounts that you manage as well as have an admin privilege assigned so you can help manage your users' empower profiles.
You can search and add each account individually or can do a bulk add by requesting access to Sales Engineer Codes or Sales Office Codes.
After empower registration, contact [email protected] to have the Sales Manager or Regional Manager admin privilege added to help Manage Users.

TIP: Once done, click the Register button to complete empower registration.
Your empower access will work when at least one ABB customer account is assigned. Once an account is requested it will be routed to an Account Manager or local admin for approval, which may take several days to complete. You will receive an email confirmation once your account is approved.

If no account is added, after 2 days your profile may be deleted.
Additional Privileges
After empower registration, there are additional permissions that may be requested. Permissions include invoice tracking, special pricing, post sales returns, rebates, quote management, and administrator access.
